A Friendly Reminder:
Personnel Change: On December 21, 2007, Mr. Omari Ahzar-Williams, Case Manager at Anthony House since June, 2007, announced that he will be pursuing further studies in conjunction with the Center for Drug Free Living. We thank him for his work and wish him all the best.
Christmas, 2007.
Thanks to all our neighbors who so graciously provided toys, and food for the guests at Anthony House! Your gifts enabled us to brighten the Christmas celebration for many children! At least 2 offices were filled almost to the ceiling! All we could say was "WOW !" (As soon as the pictures are developed, we will try to post them on this site with more stories).
A hugful of thanks to Toni and the 5th grade at Apopka Elementary School for collecting shoes, socks and underwear; Marti Ritter and the Optimist Club for the wonderful Christmas party; the TOC committee for helping to decorate the Christmas Tree; Jill Chester of The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection; Debbie Gross; Nancy Liptak; Fr. Robert, and Clarice of St. Patrick's Church for the story and crafts time; Marsha Brown; Diane Waring; Dream Lake Elementary School 4th and 5th grade classes; Noel and the students from Clay Springs Elementary School. You helped make Christmas a memorable season of hope and joy for the families here!

Yesterday, January 8, 2008, this letter was forwarded to me and I thought you might like to read it also.
"To Whom This May Concern:
I write this message in the hopes that others may receive the same benefits I received attending 'Mr. Bob' Singletary's class while at Anthony House.
'Mr. Bob' not only helped me remember many positive aspects and attitudes I had forgotten for a number of years, but also added some very important life skills that I hadn't realized.
I was especially motivated by 'Mr. Bob's' 7 habit approach to looking at various and sometimes difficult 'life' situations and using that format to solve and move forward with my life with more understanding and more positive and intelligent approach. I will miss this class and by the way, at 61 years old, raising a 10year old son as a single dad, I have since moved onto a very satisfying job and secure home for my son and myself. For this I must thank 'Mr. Bob' and his positive teachings and hope he will continue this important part of Anthony House." Signed: MC
